Population nine, none finer!1933 Goudey Napoleon Lajoie #106 PSA Mint 9. Only the famous Honus Wagner card of the T206 set could claim a more vast divide among card collectors between those who fervently desire a specimen and those that actually own one. Both the T206 Wagner and the 1933 Goudey Lajoie are so exceedingly scarce that listed full set prices for the issues fail to take them into consideration, beaten into submission by the knowledge that the cards just can't be found.
However, we've located one for our Heritage bidding clientele, allowing one lucky customer to switch teams to the "haves" from the "have nots." Thanks must be offered to one young Depression-era set builder, who would not be deterred by the fact that card number 106 was not available in standard wax packs. It took a letter, mailed to the Boston offices of Goudey Gum Co., to earn this toughest of all cards from this Big Three set, accounting for their terrific rarity today.
Just eighty-five Lajoies have ever been submitted to PSA from the 1933 Goudey issue, of which nine have garnered a Mint 9 rating. None have ever soared to the vaunted Gem Mint 10 level. As such, this relic could validly be considered one of the most significant representatives of the Bubble Gum Era that exists, a one-way ticket to the pinnacle of the hobby hierarchy for its new owner.

Signature®: Heritage Live!® Floor Sessions
Auctions designated as "Heritage Live" have continuous bidding from the time the auction is posted on our site through the live event. When normal Internet bidding ends ten minutes before the floor session for each lot, you can visit HA.com/Live and continue to place Live Proxy bids. Your secret maximum bids placed prior to the live event will compete against the live bids. When the item hits the auction block, you can continue to bid live through HA.com/Live against the floor and other live bidders with streaming audio and video of the auction. You also have the option to bid live by phone. Call (800) 872-6467 Ext. 1150 and ask for phone bidding assistance at least 24 hours prior to the live auction.
Signature® Sessions With Extended Bidding These sessions are presented only online and bidding is only taken through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:15, the new end time for that lot would become 10:45. If no other bids were placed before 10:45, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30.
Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding.
