Description
1933 Goudey Bill Terry #125 PSA Mint 9 - Pop Three, None Higher. If not for Ted Williams' glorious 1941 campaign, it would be the 1930 season of Bill Terry that would rank as the last season to produce a .400 batting average. In an era when the long ball exploits of Ruth, Gehrig and Foxx received column and headlines on all the sports pages, "Memphis Bill" was quietly constructing a career that would end at Cooperstown and a number fifty-nine ranking on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players of All-Time. In 1933, Bill Terry had just completed his first full season at the helm as manager of the New York Giants, taking over for John McGraw in 1932, he lead his team to the World Series title. Graded PSA Mint 9. One of only three in MINT with none rated higher! The color alignment of his portrait is so exceptional. The result is crisp details and an almost 3-dimensional quality. Rich, nicely saturated hues, quality corners, clean surfaces and close to perfect centering all combine for one of the finest known examples on record with PSA.View Certification and Population Details from PSA
