1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #53 PSA VG-EX 4. Among the company's prized quartet of Babe Ruth entries, it was card #53 where Goudey gave the hobby the "Yellow Background" Ruth which effectively conveys the Bambino's joy in the game to the greatest extent. These cards have come to hold our attention on the most subtle levels. Ruth is depicted holding and swinging his bat as should be expected as that is why fans adored him. Carefully study the expression on his face, a factor we are so quick to overlook as we are seemingly in constant awe, is the beginning of a smile. You don't just see a man hitting a baseball, you see a man-child admiring his life's work, and the portrayal quietly affirms the satisfaction he found in all of its elements.

Our offered card has been graded PSA VG-EX 4. There is some totally expected wear at corners, a very slight surface scuff in the lower left yellow field and graphics rest respectfully well centered. An attractive mid-grade example of the toughest of the four Ruth Goudey cards.
