    Description

1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 SGC 10 Poor 1. Babe Ruth's status in baseball was well conveyed with his four appearances in the R319 Goudey edition from 1933. Gehrig manages to appear twice but Goudey saw fit to use the same illustration. Card #181 pictures the Babe holding his trusty lumber, gazing upward from within a highly detailed portrait. This could easily be a brief, quiet moment for Ruth, sitting on clubhouse steps, watching the current Yankee batter, torn between placing the ball into the left, center or right field stands. This is an eye-catching copy of one of the hobby's more desirable Ruth collectibles. Graded SGC 10 Poor 1, but considering this grade is supposed to represent the worst a card can be this is a good looking card.
