    Description

1932 U.S. Caramel Lefty Grove #27 SGC 40 VG 3. This auction features the final examples from a fresh collection of U.S. Caramels that yielded some the nicest cards to surface in decades. We have to thank the very existence of this collection on a descendent of the man who bought them in back in 1932 and obviously and wisely choose to never handle them. The classic "cigar box" find, the cards lay dormant for the better part of a century in a box adorned, appropriately enough, with stamps and paper ephemera about the 1932 Olympics. Lefty Grove was a superstar southpaw who a key ingredient in Connie Mack's second great Athletics dynasty in the late 1920's and early 1930's. The card appeared the season after the future Hall of Fame southpaw repeated his Pitching Triple Crown performance in 1931 with American League-topping tallies in victories (a career-best 31), earned run average (a career-low 2.06) and strike outs (175), while his Philadelphia Athletics claimed its third-straight American League pennant. Graded SGC 40 VG 3, The card shows wear at corners, staining, close to precise centering and no creasing.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
