Description

1932 U.S. Caramel Babe Ruth #32 PSA EX-MT+ 6.5. Caramel cards themselves are often problematic, falling victim to staining by the product with which they were packaged. We must also consider that a Ruth card, dating from the height of his "Called Shot" fame, would have been well-loved at the time, and hence bearing the signs of handling by young hands affording no thought to future monetary value. Lastly, the Babe finds himself the final card in this issue of thirty-two, leaving him in real danger of the excess wear generally plaguing the first and last cards in a set. After all that we are in awe of the exceptional quality of this high end PSA EX-MT+ 6.5 U.S. Caramel. The only hints of the passing decades lie in the ever so slight foxing of corner tips. Centering is as perfect as you'll find; both surfaces are exceptionally clean. The rosy red portrait of "The Bambino" perfectly captures his boyish charm and everlasting appeal with an evenly toned border.
