    Signed 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers Collection (9 Different) PSA/DNA Authentic - With Original Letter and Envelope. Offered is an extraordinary gallery on nine different very rare 1935 Pebble Beach Clothiers post cards. This comes to us with an original envelope and the Ernie Smith promotional letter explaining how for a band from a Pebble Beach necktie one would get signed pictures. The letter is made out to "Richard Mutti" and the post cards signed by Smith is inscribed to the same! The glossy real photo post cards are graded by PSA as are the autographs which are stars in their own right. Each one is graded PSA/DNA NM to MINT! The ten subjects, these nine plus the immensely desirable Joe DiMaggio card (Found elsewhere in this auction) are currently the most number offered at auction with three new subjects. Includes: Leroy Anton (Cards is VG, auto is NM-MT) - Played in minor leagues from 1928 - 1940; Wee Ludolph (PSA EX 5, PSA/DNA Auto NM-MT 8) - Played in MLB in 1924 and minor leagues from 1921 - 1937; Slip Madigan (PSA EX 5, PSA/DNA Auto NM 7) - Head coach of Saint Mary's College of California from 1921 to 1939; Walter Mails (PSA EX 5, PSA/DNA Auto NM-MT 8) - Walter Mails played Major League baseball for seven seasons between 1915 and 1926. The highlight of his career was a victory in the 1920 World Series. His minor league career lasted from 1914 to 1938; Lefty O'Doul (PSA EX+ 5.5, PSA/DNA Auto Mint 9) - Who retired with a lifetime batting average of .349 trailing only Cobb, Hornsby and Shoeless Joe Jackson? It was Lefty O'Doul. O'Doul managed the San Francisco Seals of the PCL from 1935 to 1951. One of his star players was a talented youngster named Joe DiMaggio; "Clipper" Smith (PSA EX 5, PSA/DNA Auto NM-MT 8) - Maurice J. "Clipper" Smith coached football (and played), basketball and baseball. He was the head football coach at Santa Clara University from 1929 to 1935; Ernie Smith (PSA EX-MT 6, PSA/DNA Auto NM 7) - "The Pebble Beach Sportsman" radio broadcaster and sponsor of this promotion. Card is inscribed "To Richard Mutti with a Hey! Hey! From Ernie Smith;" Gabby Street (PSA VG 3, PSA/DNA Auto NM-MT 8) - Gabby played major and minor league ball from 1903 to 1931. He was the manager of the Mission Reds in 1934 and 1935; Ossie "Oscar" Vitt (PSA EX 5, PSA/DNA Auto NM-MT 8) - Vitt played in the majors from 1912 to 1921. His minor league career as a player and manager started in 1910 - 1911 and 1922 to 1942. He was manager of the Oakland Oaks in 1935.
