    Description

Signed 1933-36 E137 Zeenut Joe DiMaggio (sic DeMaggio-Batting) PSA VG 3, Auto 10. The Babe was still stuffing his belly into pinstripes when this remarkable rarity rolled off the presses a continent away for insertion into Zeenut candy boxes. The San Francisco-based confectioner, whose product was often described as a coconut-based variation on Cracker Jacks, was the very first organization to capture this local Seal in cardboard, a rare and important relic debuting three years before the young superstar made his Bronx debut. The year virtually assured a future in the Major Leagues for the lanky teenager, who would hit safely in a record sixty-one consecutive PCL contests in 1933 to prove that his forthcoming fifty-six in 1941 was no fluke. "Baseball didn't really get into my blood until I knocked off that hitting streak," he'd later admit. "Getting a daily hit became more important to me than eating, drinking or sleeping."

As profoundly scarce as this regional issue is, the addition of an absolutely perfect black sharpie signature carries it into the collecting stratosphere. As the signed trading card market gains momentum by the month, this exceptional specimen enjoys the brightest of investment outlooks. Graded PSA VG 3 with a Auto 10.
