    Description

Extremely Rare 1955 Spic and Span Milwaukee Braves Complete Set (18). "Spic and Span" was a dry cleaning chain based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are famous for their annual promotions showcasing the Milwaukee Braves. Their promotions appeared from 1953-1957 and 1960. By far their rarest and most innovative promotion came in 1955 in the form of these 18 large Black & White die-cut cards made of thick card stock and tabs to allow them to stand up-right. They all measure up to 8" wide and 8" tall. Between the need for die-cutting, removing the backgrounds and then folding portions to allow the impressive mini-statues to stand, high grade examples are almost impossible. Overall this set is a very strong gallery without a single missing bat, glove, foot or hand. Rare in any condition. The set presents overall near-mint with any condition issues noted here. You may never find another complete matching the quality of this presentation. Includes: Hank Aaron (light crease at wrist), Joe Adcock, Lew Burdette (rev. surface scuffing), William Bruton (light creases), Robert Buhl, Gene Conley (rev. wrinkle at neck), Del Crandall (rev. production wrinkles), Jack Dittmer, Ernie Johnson, Dave Jolly (crease at face), Johnny Logan, Eddie Mathews (tabs never folded), Chet Nichols (rev. wrinkle at neck, tabs never folded), Danny O'Connell, Andy Pafko (light rev. crease at wrist), Warren Spahn (light crease at ankle), Bobby Thomson (light crease at neck) and Jim Wilson. In some cases, the left and right tabs were never folded.
