1977 Topps Baseball Near Set (658/660) - #2 Current Finest on the PSA Registry! – With 419 Gem Mint 10s and a 10.32 GPA ! Even Bo Derek (her star-making film "10" would be released two years after the subject trading card issue) is bested by this absolutely outrageous compilation, the "weighting" system assigned to rare/important cards pushing the grade point average into a range that would seem impossible to a casual collector. No fewer than 419 of the 658 subjects are housed in a PSA Gem Mint 10 slab, with the balance at Mint 9 but for a single NM-MT+ 8.5 and two missing cards. The set currently stands atop the silver medal podium of the PSA Set Registry rankings. It's an issue that holds a warm spot in the hearts of Generation X'ers like much of our Heritage staff, but we never treated our own collections nearly so cautiously in our youth.The only cards missing are #'s 136 Mumphrey and 420 Staub. If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding and you must be on an individual lot page to reflect the accurate time remaining for that particular lot.
