1958 Bell Brand Los Angeles Dodgers PSA Graded Complete Set (10). When "Dem Bums" in Brooklyn pulled up stakes and moved to the west coast it was nothing short of a monumental event in baseball history. Brooklyn was home to a professional baseball team dating back to 1884. Few teams had a more passionate and intimate relationship with their fans. Players didn't just come and go from the stadium. Some lived right in the area giving fans the chance to meet players at a local restaurant in addition to the baseball diamond. Once in sunny California, the marketing blitz began with local businesses promoting their products showcasing the newly transplanted baseball heroes and their distinctive "LA" logo. Naturally, trading cards were an ideal media to introduce young snackers the their new Dodgers heroes. One such firm was Bell Brand Potato Chips who issued four annual sets beginning with the first year the Dodgers were in Los Angeles in 1958. This 10-card set is the most scarce entry within the Bell Brand library and even has four even more challenging short prints. Includes: PSA Mint 9: 1 card, Gil Hodges; PSA NM-MT+ 8.5: 1 card, Duke Snider (SP); PSA NM-MT 8: 8 cards, Roy Campanella, Gino Cimoli (SP), Don Drysdale, Jim Gilliam, Sandy Koufax, Johnny Podres (SP), Pee Wee Reese (SP) and Don Zimmer. SMR value is $12,550.00
