    1956 Gum Adventure Near Sets Mini-Hoard (30 Sets) Plus Display Boxes (5 Boxes). Offered is a mini-hoard of 30 near-complete sets of Gum Products "Adventure" cards from 1956 plus five empty display boxes. The series showcases a lengthy selection of sports and others adventurous activities from the everyday such as fishing and roller skating to the extreme like feeding bald eagles and testing new aircraft. A number of sports are also represented including surfing, boxing, baseball, hockey and track and field. This set is a lot of fun to collect. This mini-hoard includes a total of thirty near sets of 99 cards each. Each set is missing card #86 featuring German boxer Max Schmeling. There are 2,970 individual cards with some prime candidates for grading. The set features noted athletes like Jack Johnson, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, Gordie Howe, Harry Agganis and others. Also includes are five retail counter display boxes. Each of the 5-3/4" x 8-1/4" x 2-1/2" boxes once contained 240 packs where for just one 1-cent youngsters got a card and a piece of gum. Display boxes are in very-good or excellent condition. Each set will have a small percentage of lesser cards. The sets grade mainly EX to NM/MT.
