1954 Bowman Baseball Complete Set (224). Bowman's 1954 release boasts 224 full-color cards. Contractual problems most likely caused the pulling of card #66 (Ted Williams) from the set, creating one of the true rareities of the postwar era. The offered set includes both the #66 and #210 Jim Piersall, while omitting the tough #66 Ted Williams card. Highlights include #1 Phil Rizzuto (VG/EX), 58 Pee Wee Reese (EX/MT), 64 Ed Mathews (EX), 65 Mickey Mantle (G), 89 Willie Mays (G/VG), 90 Roy Campanella (F/G), 132 Bob Feller (VG/EX), 161 Yogi Berra (VG), 170 Duke Snider (G/VG), 177 Whitey Ford (VG). Grades 40% EX or better, 40% VG or better, 20% lesser.
