    Description

1950 Callahan "Baseball Hall of Fame" Near Set (61). This classic series was sold at ball parks and at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown starting in 1950 and saw updates as new members were elected through 1956. The cards feature expert level drawings by famed artist Mario DeMarco. The name comes from the publisher, B.E. Callahan of Chicago who is also responsible for "Who's Who in Baseball." The cards measure 1-3/4" x 2-1/2". This offering is a great start to gathering a genuine vintage set that contains many of the greatest players in baseball history. Six cards have been graded by PSA. Highlights include: Graded - PSA NM-MT 8: 2 cards w/Burkett and H. Wagner; PSA NM 7: 2 cards, w/Bresnahan and Mathewson; PSA EX-MT 6: 2 cards, w/Cobb and Gehrig. Ungraded - including Anson (EX/MT), Cochrane/Error (NM), Foxx (EX/MT), W. Johnson (NM), Lajoie (EX/MT), Ruth (VG), Speaker (NM) and Young (EX/MT). Grades 87% EX/MT to NM with a couple nicer, 13% EX with one lesser.
