1949 Bowman Baseball Complete Set (240) Plus Six Variations - With 131 Graded Cards! The 1949 Bowman series is a benchmark in baseball card production. It is the first major release of the modern era and has remained a target for passionate card aficionados ever since. The simple design and color scheme both harken back to a more innocent era and yet it upped the creativity quotient needed by the competition to pull in the hard-earned pennies and nickels of a new generation of young sports fans. This presentation is very nice overall. Either upgraded or left intact, it deserves to be a proud element of any vintage collection.
