1948 Swell Gum "Babe Ruth Story" Collection (93). It was no secret that Babe Ruth was in declining health the final few years of his life. A movie titled "The Babe Ruth Story" told the tale of how the man who had become legend lived from his earliest days to his illustrious career. sadly, Ruth passed away before the premiere of the movie. This is a very rarely offered large quantity (93 cards) of the '48 Swell Gum Babe Ruth release. In total, 17 cards have been graded by PSA. Includes: Graded - PSA NM 7: 1 card, #6; PSA EX-MT 6: 5 cards, #'s 5, 6 (2), 8 and 9; PSA EX 5: 4 cards, #'s 1 Babe Ruth/Bendix, 4, 11 (2); PSA VG-EX 4: 7 cards, #'s 1 Babe Ruth/Bendix, 3, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
