1941 Play Ball (Paper Version) PSA-Encapsulated Complete Set (24). The 1941 Play Ball paper set of 24 cards was originally circulated in two sheets of twelve cards. Identical in all respects to the standard cards except these were printed on a thin, white paper. Originally sold for one penny per sheet, they were obviously intended to be hand-cut into individual cards and served as a patriotic alternative to using card stock that was now needed for the war that was all-too inevitable in the summer/fall of 1941. This set is among the very last Gum Inc. sets issued until after the war. Includes: Encapsulated PSA Authentic: 24 cards, #'s 1 Miller, 2 West, 3 Walters, 4 Derringer, 5 McCormick, 6 Hubbell, 7 Danning, 8 Ott , 9 May, 10 Vaughan, 11 Garms, 12 Brown, 13 Foxx, 14 Williams, 15 Cronin, 16 Trosky, 17 Weatherly, 18 Greenberg, 19 Gehringer, 20 Ruffing, 21 Keller, 22 Johnson, 23 McQuinn, 24 Leonard.
