1928 Fro-Joy Babe Ruth Uncut Sheet, Premium and Mailing Envelope (3 Pieces). For what must have been a frenzied week August 6 to 11, 1928 stores offered a set of six baseball cards featuring the man who was having better years than the president, Babe Ruth. The cards came courtesy of the General Ice Cream Corp. for their Fro-Joy Ice Cream. A special 8-5/8" x 12" Babe Ruth premium was also offered enticing kids to give up their treasured cards and mail them in to receive a handsome premium. When the premium was mailed back, kids also received the large 9-1/4" x 12-3/8" sheet with the six cards as presented here. Collectors are all too aware of the reproductions that are circulating. This presentation includes a very rare, very authentic sheet with the six cards, mail-in premium and original mailing envelope. The card sheet has some spider-web wrinkling but no major creases. This affects the visual appeal only a minuscule amount. The premium is very nice, presenting at the EX/MT level with mild bends at two corners possibly from previous framing; the envelope, confirming the "General Ice Cream Corporation" connection is in good condition with one tear and some spine chipping. Framed and matted, this would make for an amazing wall display and conversation piece.
