    Description

1920 W519 Unnumbered SGC Complete Set (10). Pending more information in regards to an exact date of issue, the W519 series gave baseball fans and card collectors one of, if not the first card of Babe Ruth dressed in his New York Yankees finest and the last card of pitcher Eddie Cicotte. The day after Christmas in 1919 the Xmas smiles of Boston baseball fans would turn upside down when the Red Sox sold Ruth to the hated Yankees and around the same time the Black Sox scandal was public fodder. This version is the only version to have Cicotte and might be the first of the W519s to circulate with later versions removing Cicotte. Offered is a 10-card complete set of W519 unnumbered variety hand cut strip cards. Includes: SGC 40 VG 3: 1 card, Eddie Collins; SGC 35 Good+ 2.5: 1 card, Kreuger; SGC 30 Good 2: 4 cards, Cicotte, Gleason, Morton and Murphy; SGC 20 Fair 1.5: 2 cards, Frisch and Ruth; SGC 10 Poor 1: 1 card, Marquard; SGC Authentic: 1 card, Cravath.
