Description
1919-21 W514 Strip Card Baseball Complete Master Set (124) - With Shoeless Joe Jackson SGC VG 3! The offered 1919-21 W514 Strip Card Master Set is a complete compilation of all 124 known cards, making it a comprehensive and historically important strip card set of the pre-war era. Spanning multiple years of issue, the W514 set features a broad lineup of Hall of Famers, stars, and rarities from the deadball and early live-ball periods, including legendary figures like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Walter Johnson. Unlike many surviving W-sets, which are plagued by irregular, poorly hand-cut examples, this set was assembled with exceptional care, with the majority of cards cut to consistent and proper dimensions, an uncommon achievement in this notoriously condition-sensitive series.Of particular significance, set includes the scarce variations of Rabbit Maranville, Dave Bancroft, Bob Roth, and Hugh Jennings, all of which are required for master set inclusion. A total of 12 cards are graded by SGC, highlighted by a highly sought-after Shoeless Joe Jackson graded SGC VG 3, one of the key cards in the entire strip card genre. With all 124 cards accounted for and assembled with quality in mind, this is a rare and outstanding opportunity to acquire a cornerstone strip card set in master form. Includes: SGC EX 5: 1 card, #65 Alexander; SGC VG/EX 4: 4 cards, #'s 35 Williams, 82 Cicotte, 94 Johnson, 112 Gleason; SGC VG 3: 3 cards, #'s 15 Jackson, 72 Mathewson, 91 Weaver; SGC GD 2: 1 card, #31 Gandil; SGC PR 1: 2 cards, #'s 2 Ruth, 58 Pfeffer; SGC Authentic: 1 card, #43 Cobb. Ungraded - #'s 21 Maranville/Braves (GD), 21 Maranville/Pirates (GD), 23 Kerr (VG), 25 Collins (Auth), 41 Griffith (GD), 56 Hornsby (GD), 75 Baker (GD/VG), 95 Crawford (VG), 101 Sisler (GD/VG), 102 Speaker (GD), 106 Jennings/Tigers (FR), 106 Jennings/Giants (PR), 110 Wheat (VG), 113 Stengel (VG). Grades 71% VG to VG/EX (few better), 29% PR to GD.

Auction Type
Signature Internet Extended Bid: These Auctions are presented via catalog and online. Bidding is taken through our website or via phone. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:15, the new end time for that lot would become 10:45. If no other bids were placed before 10:45, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30. Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding and you must be on an individual lot page to reflect the accurate time remaining for that particular lot.
