    Description

1910/11 M116 Sporting Life Baseball Collection (43). The M116 Sporting Life series was one of the more comprehensive card promotions yet today are found in far fewer numbers than other sets of the same era. The tobacco and candy industries saw great success with colorful and flashy insert cards, but in an effort to appeal to the sports fan who read about sports as well, Sporting Life took the less-is-more approach and produced cards with a subdued pastel palette and a formal head-and-shoulder portrait, the work of Carl Horner. Offered is a gallery of forty-three M116 Sporting Life baseball cards. Includes: Adams, Bailey, Beck, Beckendorf, Bemis, Berger, Birmingham, Bradley, M. Brown, Conroy, H. Davis(2), Devlin, Doolan, L. Doyle, Falkenberg, Foxen, Fromme, Gessler, Graham/STL, Hartzell, Howell, Hyatt, Hyatt, Jacklitsch, D. Jones, Konetchy, Leifield, Livingstone, Lobert, Moore, Niles, O'Connor, Rowan, Schlei, H. Smith, Sparks, Stahl, Stallings, Stanage, Stovall, Unglaub and Wiltse. Grades POOR with some that are incomplete or trimmed. Due to condition, cards are sold as-is, there are no returns, please bid accordingly.
