    Description

1933-34 Tattoo Orbit R308 Advertising Sign. In 1933, Tattoo Orbit chewing gum, owned by Wrigley, produced a self-developing baseball photograph/card. Measuring just 1-1/4" x 1-7/8" the black and white cards were given the designation R308-1 in the American Card Catalog. Many believe they were meant to be a second series, or high number series, related to the R305 set released the same year. This advertising piece, measuring 6x9," is actually copyrighted 1934, suggesting the normally accepted 1933 dating may be incorrect, or simply that the series ran over from 1933 into 1934. Paper is in Near Mint condition with just a minor bit of wear to the bottom corners and raised paper on the top left edge. Absolutely stunning graphics in bold and bright colors, this looks as if it was printed today. A fabulous piece for both card and photo collectors.
