Circa 1910 S67 Indian Chiefs Silks Large Premiums Lot of 6. Super-rare large format (each approximately 4x6.5") silks utilize the same imagery as the N2 Allen & Ginter series issued in 1888, and while we've seen the smaller sized silks (2x3.25"), this is our first encounter with the expanded premiums. The silks are numbered "L-1" through "L-5," with the sixth trimmed below what we can only assume is "L-6," with signs of removed stitching running close to the borders as well. Other than the issues with this sixth specimen, the silks remain in splendid condition considering their age and delicacy, with only minor edge fraying and no staining, tearing or loss of brightness. A gorgeous, evocative sampling that speaks to the tremendous artistry of the early tobacco card hobby.

‡ The owner placed a late bid on this unreserved lot and repurchased it, subject to applicable commission.
