    Description

1982 Fleer Test Card and Variation Collection (23) With Ripken. In their effort to get a contract with Fleer to produce their baseball cards, International Paper produced a one hundred sheets with 132 cards. Sixty-six players are used twice on the sheet with some players named correctly, others misidentified, some had no name at all. Each card had "TEST CARD" printed over the player's name. It has been reported the sheet were given out to customers. A 1997 article claimed 40 of the sheets were found and delivered to Fleer and assumed to still reside. The two different cards featuring HoFer Cal Ripken Jr. as by far the most sought after. This collection includes the correct Ripken image with name and 10 other test cards: including Eddie Murray, Rickey Henderson and others. Also included are two variations from the base set, #'s 438 Hrabosky (VG) with "All, instead of Al" on the reverse and also John Littlefield error card with reverse negative and black back. Card has a rough left edge and appears hand cut with the tip of the bottom right corner missing. Lastly, Dave Engle is presented on 10 cards of these printers variations with blank backs. All cards except the Hrabosky are hand cut (present EX/MT to NM) with some nicer and hover near the 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" standard size card as some present slightly larger and some slighter shorter.
