1961 Topps Baseball Collection (425). The companion lot to the 1960 Topps cards offered elsewhere in this auction. This fresh to the hobby collection comes to us after going largely untouched for decades. There may be a rare wrinkle or soft corner but, overwhelmingly, individual cards have that "fresh from the pack" feel. Surfaces are clean, corners range from sharp to just slightly touched and oh, those glossy surfaces never get boring to look at. In total, 13 cards have been graded by SGC. There is everyone from commons to superstars, including: #'s 1 Groat (SGC 84 NM 7), 25 Reds Artillery (SGC 92 NM/MT+ 8.5), 35 Santo (SGC 84 NM 7), 80 Killebrew (EX), 120 Mathews (SGC 86 NM+ 7.5), 141 Williams (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), 150 Mays (2: SGC 60 EX 5, EX), 160 Ford (SGC 84 NM 7), 211 Gibson (EX/MT), 287 Yaz (pencil erasure), 290 Musial (2: SGC 60 EX 5, EX, NM o/c), 350 Banks (3: SGC 80 EX/NM 6, 2 EX), 425 Berra (SGC 60 EX 5), 478 Maris MVP (EX), 517 McCovey (SGC 60 EX 5), 574 Aparicio AS (SGC 70 EX+ 5.5), 579 Mays AS (SGC 60 EX 5) and 589 Spahn AS (2: EX/MT, EX). The cards grade EX to NM with some better (most are EX/MT or better). Cards EX or slightly lesser are almost all exclusively due to centering. If you love fresh cards and can live with graphics slightly eschew, this is the ideal lot for you.Auction Info
