1936 R301 Overland Candy Baseball Wrappers Collection (20) With Grove. Overland Candy wrappers are among the rarest 1930's issues and that should come as no surprise. Issued in 1936 and designated R301 in the American Card Catalog, these very fragile, paper-thin collectibles are usually not represented in many vintage collections and when found are in less than ideal condition. Remember, as wrappers, they were meant to be discarded. Our presentation of twenty different wrappers is not the largest selection brought to auction but might very well be the finest condition collection of R301's you may ever find. With a selection of stars and HoFers, the gallery includes: Appling (tear), Berger, Chapman (slight tears), Cooney (x2, one with very slight tears), Dickey (edge/corner chips), Gehringer, Gomez, Grove (slight chip, edge ding), Haas, Higgins (one tear), Hildebrand, Jordan (one edge chip), Radcliff, Reynolds, Rowe, Simmons, Trosky (one tear), Werber, and West. Physical damage is almost impossible to avoid due to circulation and most examples have some type. This collection has that to a more than acceptable minimum and overall, are well above average for this issue.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
