1934 Detroit Tigers Annis Furs PSA Graded Collection (10) with Hank Greenberg Rookie, PSA 3- Pop. 1, None Higher. UPDATE: Seven of the ten cards are Pop. 1, none higher, including rare Rookie Hank Greenberg. Population information added below.The origin of the 1934 Detroit Tigers Annis Furs baseball cards was long unknown until the discovery of an advertisement displaying these cards with the full company name, Newton Annis Furs. The store was located in downtown Detroit and had limited distribution. The set included 23 players, and only 35 total cards have been graded by PSA. The offered ten card collection contains seven cards that are population 1 with none graded higher, including the key to the set, a rare rookie Hank Greenberg PSA 3. Only Sorrell, Fischer, and Cochrane have singular examples graded higher by PSA.
This lot comes with an original envelope that once housed the set of 10 cards. Includes: PSA VG-EX 4: 6 cards, Alvin Crowder, "Chief" Hogsett (MC), Eldon Auker, Luke Hamlin (MC), "Mickey" Cochrane (MC), "Ray" Hayworth (MC); PSA VG 3: 3 cards, Carl Fischer, "Hank" Greenberg, Victor Sorrell; PSA Good 2: 1 card, Ervin "Pete" Fox (MC).
