Description
1912 J. Koenigsberg (J=K) Candy Devlin & Gibson Pair (2). From a fresh to the hobby collection. The J=K Candy series is an extremely obscure set of cards that went unidentified for decades with only a few examples known. A near complete box confirmed they were made for J. Koenigsberg and that they were the front and back panels of a box of "Candy and Jewelry." One panel was a Black & White posed scene, the opposite panel was in color with the top of the players head encroaching into the top panel. Offered are a pair of the "in action" panels. Includes: 1) Art Devlin with New York, hand cut to approx. 1-5/8" x 2-5/8" and 2) George Gibson with Pittsburgh, hand cut to approx. 1-5/8" x 2-5/8."Auction Info
