    Description

1911 T3 Turkey Red Cabinets Lot of 4. It's the Dead Ball Era as we picture it in our minds, perfect in its purity, dusty sandlots set beneath pastel skies. Compare them to the cards produced today, which trade artistry for flash and artificial scarcity, and we fall even deeper in love with these gentle reminders of better days in our National Pastime. We still adore the game of baseball, of course, but imagine the days when the game was seen through eyes that created these magical cabinets. We offer four terrific specimens from the one-hundred piece set here, each originally acquired by an early baseball fan that mailed in his coupons from packs of cigarettes, then waited for them to arrive by post. The combination of this method of initial distribution and the delicate nature of these oversized (6x8") "cards" has left very few still available, and this quartet remains in solid EX condition. Present are Trying to Catch Him Napping #44, Bransfield #82, Carrigan #86 and Sullivan #121.
