1969 Topps Willie McCovey (White Letters) #440 SGC 96 Mint 9. Bob Gibson called him "the scariest hitter in baseball." It's an opinion held by many of the pitchers who were victimized by one or more of McCovey's 521 career home runs. With an astonishing number of accolades including three NL home run titles, two NL RBI titles, and an NL MVP it is no question why McCovey is enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame. His "White Letter" variation is far more scarce than the common yellow variety. A true condition rarity, this card "Pack-fresh" and uncompromising in all regards. An absolutely remarkable card with tremendous appeal for the '69 specialist. Graded SGC 96 Mint 9. One of just two cards cards to grade "96 Mint." The census does not note the variations so this card could quite possibly be a "Pop One With None Higher" title holder.
