1969 Topps Milton Bradley Trading Card Game (132). For years, advanced collectors were aware of color variations on the card backs among 1968 Topps baseball cards. Few, however, were aware of their source. The cards have their origin in a 1969 game from Milton Bradley titled "Win-A-Card," a trading card board game. Included in the game are 132 cards, comprised of the following: 76 1968 Topps Baseball cards, 33 1967 Topps Football cards and 22 1965 Topps Hot Rod cards, plus an instruction card. All of the cards were printed on a single sheet and fortunately for collectors, include not only the Nolan Ryan rookie card and several other Hall of Famers (Brooks Robinson, Tom Seaver, Ed Mathews, Rod Carew, Gaylord Perry, Bob Gibson, Hank Aaron), but also the yellow-team variations of Ed Brinkman and Casey Cox. The football cards also include the set's most expensive card, the 1967 Topps Joe Namath as well as cards for Hall of Famers Nick Buoniconti, Buck Buchanan, Fred Biletnikoff and Ron Mix. The cards all have a background on their reverse sides which is yellow versus the normal orange or gold. As these scarce variations become more widely recognized, it is reasonable to think that the difference in values between the regular-issue cards and the MB game cards will widen significantly. The game is fully intact, and while the box shows some signs of aging including staining; the cards are still sealed in their original state after all these years.
