1969 Topps Bob Gibson #200 PSA Gem Mint 10. Gibson, fresh off his second straight twenty-win season, seemed to be enjoying a particularly successful stretch, going on to win the '67 World Series with his St. Louis Cardinals. Then the 1968 season came and it was a career year for Gibson. He won both, NL MVP honors and the Cy Young award (by unanimous vote). Cardinal fans saw Gibson go 22-9 with a 1.12 ERA and 13 shutouts! The nine losses were hardly by a lack of effort. A weak Cardinals line-up with one .300 batter, five losses came on scores of 1-0, one loss was a no-hitter pitched by HoFer Gaylord Perry. During June and July of '68, Gibson pitched 47 consecutive scoreless innings while pitching 28 complete games. The pitching mound was lowered in 1969. His 1969 Topps card is #200 and this example is virtual perfection in every way. Graded PSA Gem MT 10, one of three in Gem MT with no chance of on grading higher unless they raise the grading scale.
