1967 Topps Tom Seaver - Mets Rookie Stars #581 PSA Mint 9. This is Hall of Famer Tom Seaver's rookie card, with added value because Seaver was rookie of the year that season. Seaver finished '67 with a 16-13 record, pitched 18 complete games, and had a 2.86 ERA. In the Mets' World Championship year in 1969, Tom Terrific went 25-7 with a 2.21 ERA, and took home the Cy Young Award. He was the Mets' first pitching star, and he and manager Gil Hodges had much to do with changing the Mets from lovable losers into serious competitors. Seaver also pitched with the Met pennant winners in 1973, and won three Cy Young Awards., A 12-time All-Star, he also pitched for Cincinnati, the Chicago White Sox and Boston, but his fame rests on his 12 seasons as a Met. Seaver finished his career with a 311-205 record and an ERA of 2.86. As for Bill Denehy, who shares the card, he did have a big part in Met history, but not as most would think. Battling injuries, Denehy only had a lifetime record of 1-10, but he, along with $100,000, was traded after the 1967 season to the Washington Senators in exchange for Washington manager Hodges. So, Manager Hodges, Seaver and Denehy all made major contributions to the Miracle Mets 1969 Mets' World's Championship. Sadly, Tom Seaver passed away on August 31, 2020.

Graded PSA Mint 9. Here is the acknowledged rookie card of the greatest Met of them all. A very valuable treasure with a colorful, yet simple presentation - the youthful photo of George Thomas Seaver evoking countless memories.
