1963 Topps Mickey Mantle #200 PSA Mint 9. It was May 22, 1963 that Mickey Mantle clubbed what he considered the hardest/longest home run of his career, nearly becoming the only man in history to hit a fair ball beyond the confines of Yankee Stadium. Observers swear the ball was still rising when it struck the 110-foot tall facade above the right field's third deck, its projected distance estimated at 620 feet had it met no impediment. Though that calculation is a matter of some dispute, the spectacular condition of the offered cardboard commemorative from that season is simple, observable reality.

Topps felt competition from Fleer, and Topps produced an issue, modeled somewhat on its 1953 card, with great eye appeal. We get a nice glimpse of the famous facade that the Mick dented in the background. The 576-card set had a bottom front panel that indicated name, position, and team, but it had no front border. As a result, the '63 cards can easily show lower corner wear, and thus cards in high grade are difficult to obtain. Graded PSA Mint 9. Only two have rated higher.
