1959 Dad's Cookies Album and 31-Card Collection - Possibly Unique. IMAGE NOTE: A card of Bob Cerv in the album is not imaged. There are 31 cards.

UPDATE: As is evident in our catalog imagery, the cards were at one time taped at the corners. The tape is no longer there after sixty years, and the cards were glued onto the paper. They all have a staple, a hole from a staple being removed, or a combination, as do all Dad's Cookie cards.

As featured on the Heritage Auctions Facebook page. For years, the Dad's Cookies ad was written off as some "after market" stamping but now we know they are so much more. Issued in 1959, Dad's was a bakery based in Vancouver. The set consists of 64 cards and with an offer on the back where a FREE COLOURED ALBUM could be had in exchange for kids cutting out the word "Sandy" from five cards and mailing them in. Today, we know they are a very scarce 1950's releases and the album was unknown - until now. Our consignor is the son of the original collector who attempted to put the set together. What cards that have been found all have staple holes in them as cards came stapled to actual boxes of Dad's cookies. When made available, cards sell for hundreds of dollars. Offered is the first and currently the only confirmed example of the 8-page, 8-1/2" x 12-1/4" album designed to house 32 cards! Each spot has the names of two players so a pair of albums would be need to house all 64 cards. This is the kind of collection that keeps even the most advance collections from completion. So far, the PSA census shows a total of less than 25 cards covering just fifteen players - all graded poor. The album contains 22 cards including Kluszewski, McDaniel, Ashburn, Aaron, Cepeda, Skowron, Mantle, Pierce, Donovan, Newcombe, Berra, Thomas, Seivers, Williams, Howard, Cerv, Friend, Kaline, Banks, Spahn, Burdette and Snider. Loose cards include Adcock (x2), Cerv, Ennis, Ford, Hodges(x2), Score and Torgeson. Just like dad's cookies, presenting this album is "Oh So Good!"
