    Description

1954 Topps Ernie Banks #94 PSA NM-MT 8. An ever-popular, debut-year collectible honors the man who epitomizes the spirit of the Chicago Cubs, and one who almost single-handedly kept enthusiasm for the franchise alive for generations of devoted fans. The former Negro Leaguer and eventual Hall of Famer was honored twice with the National League MVP award (1957, 1958) and became a member of the esteemed 500 Home Run Club. His ever-present smile was firmly in place even in 1954. With just a glance at this superb card, the observer can almost feel Banks' "Let's Play Two!" enthusiasm. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. As expected, almost every facet of its presentation is impeccable. There are no disturbances on the surfaces, rich hues and tight registration all combine with close to precise centering. Notably absent are the '54 Topps issue's vexing "print specks" one finds with white or yellow background cards. Forget "Let's Play Two." This beauty will make you say "I want two!"

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
