    Description

1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 SGC 40 VG 3. For many, this card opened the door to hobby enlightenment. For most outside the hobby, this card represents the hobby. It is the single most desirable card of the post-war era. While it is the tremendous historical relevance of the Mick that drives its value.

Offered is a solid example, graded SGC 40 VG 3. His portrait is mildly (and that may be too strong a word) affected by a lone surface scuff in the lower right. There is an exceptionally hard to see crease in the lower right as well. Aside from that the card is an excellent-plus looking card. The real prize is the central portrait. Gloss, color quality and the very clean and glowing white border make for an alluring combination. This is a very nice card for the grade as it is truly a card that has no major faults.
