    Description

1952 Topps Jackie Robinson #312 SGC NM 7. "He was the greatest competitor I've ever seen," said Duke Snider of Jackie Robinson, immensely famous as a civil rights icon as well as a baseball legend. Interest in Robinson can only rise. The 75th anniversary of Robinson's minor league debut on April 18, 1946 is in 2021 and the 75th anniversary of his smashing of the Major League color line on April 15, 1947 is in 2022. As a Brooklyn minor leaguer on the Montreal Royals, Robinson tore up the International League in 1946, and then, under overwhelming pressure as a groundbreaker, became the National League's Rookie of the Year in 1947 as he hit .296 for Brooklyn, led the league in stole bases and helped the Dodgers to the pennant. Mainly an infielder, he compiled a .311 lifetime batting average, and was a part of six Dodger pennant winners and a World Series crown. As Robinson's achievements reach their anniversaries, his cards can only become more valuable. Graded SGC NM 7.
