Description

1952 Topps Jackie Robinson #312 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. Jackie Robinson forever changed the character of our National Pastime for the better. Even in the (relative to the vast majority of the United States) racially diverse borough of Brooklyn, Jackie Robinson would be for thousands the first black man that they considered "one of us." They cheered for him. They loved him. Some of the boys in the stands at Ebbets would march as men in Selma because their hearts and minds had been opened during warm summer afternoons in Flatbush. In short, Jackie Robinson was baseball's greatest gift to the soul of our nation, and arguably the most significant figure in the history of American sports.

Presented is a fitting tribute to his enduring contribution, the first card of Jackie Robinson to bear the Topps brand. Oddly, Bowman did not include him in their 1951 or 1952 editions. This particular card also presents a dignified strength worthy of the Dodger great. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8. This is One of just six graded NM/MT by SGC with two rated higher. This card needs no lengthy description. Colors, surfaces, gloss, centering are all high quality and meeting if not exceeding expectations. A eye-catching card worthy of the finest 1950's collection.
