    Description

1952 Topps Jackie Robinson #312 PSA NM-MT 8. Human nature instructs us to fear, to condemn, that which we do not understand, and the racial divisions in this nation and throughout history have been seemingly inevitable. We offer this prelude in order to illustrate just how substantial and essential were the contributions of Jackie Robinson. That he forever changed the character of our National Pastime for the better is self-evident, but overly simplistic. Even in the (relative to the vast majority of the United States) racially diverse borough of Brooklyn, Jackie Robinson would be for thousands the first black man that they considered "one of us." They cheered for him. They loved him. Some young fans would march as men in Selma because their hearts and minds had been opened during warm summer afternoons in Flatbush. In short, Jackie Robinson was baseball's greatest gift to the soul of our nation, and arguably the most significant figure in the history of American sports.

Presented is a fitting tribute to the man and the first card of Jackie Robinson to bear the Topps name. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. From over 1,000 submissions, this is one of forty-four graded NM-MT with thirteen grading higher. This card needs no lengthy description. Centering is close to perfect. Colors are vivid and rich. Surfaces are 99.9% blemish free. Gloss is fresh and vibrant. Corners all come to precise ninety degree angels with only tiny hints of wear, or simply no wear at all. A strong card with tremendous eye appeal to match its physical qualities.
