1948 Leaf Larry Doby Rookie #138 PSA NM-MT 8 - None Higher! Jackie Robinson set the stage when he brought down the Major League and the National League racial barrier. Another barrier was down when Hall of Famer Larry Doby became the first African-American to play in the American League when he signed with the Cleveland Indians. Thanks to the limited distribution of his card from the 1948 Leaf series, he is on innumerable want lists. The supply of high-grade examples of the difficult Leaf short prints will never be adequate enough to address collector demand for any player, and certainly for a Hall of Famer. Corners show little to modest tip wear. Portrait is both precisely registered and centered!

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of six graded NM-MT with none rated higher. In the two years sine Heritage has sold this card the pop numbers in NM-MT or higher condition has not changed.
