1935 R321 Goudey 4-In-1 Uncut Panel With Babe Ruth plus Nine Other HoFers! The inspiration for the 1935 Goudey series certainly must have been the Exhibit cards of the same era that featured four baseball players per card. Thankfully Goudey broke the trend and used the same professionally detailed illustrations of baseball finest but escalated the game by adding pieces from one of nine different puzzle scenes. Uncut panels of six or twelve cards are rarely made available at auction. While there is no shortage of Hall of Famers with Grimes, Ki Ki Cuyler, Jim Bottomley, Paul & Lloyd Waner, W. Hoyt Rabbit Maranville all making appearances is it the appearance by Babe Ruth that makes this approx. 7 x 5-3/4" panel so special. This is one of the last cards he appeared on during his career. The back displays the full "Picture 3" of the Cardinals Frank Frisch. To the best of our research, there are no known full uncut sheets from this series so these 6-card panels are highly prized additions. The piece presents EX as there are no creases or wrinkles and just modest wear at corners. There are though adhesive staining and residue along the left and right edges and a few areas on the reverse. A rare find and a great Ruth collectible.
