Description

1929 R316 Kashin Publications Complete Set (101) - #1 on the SGC Set Registry! Have fun searching old auction catalogs. What you won't find is a 101-card complete set of R316 Kashin Publication cards in any condition. A few have come close, but to the best of our searching, not a single 101 entry was found. Between the SGC and PSA Registries, this is the only complete set! Appearing in 1929, this must have been a treasured sight on store shelves as few sets were being produced. The cards were sold in four separate series, each in a uniquely colored box of 25 cards. Including Babe Ruth in each series surely helped sales and cements Ruth's status at the time. Not only is this presentation complete, it is in surprisingly high grade for this issue. The economical paper stock resulted in quick corner dings and bends. This set boasts a NM/MT Babe Ruth (Pop One, The Highest!), a NM Gehrig (Pop Two, The Highest!), seven of the fourteen total R316s graded SGC 92 and 96, plus the finest recorded I. Hadley and H. Seibold scarcities. Includes: Graded - SGC 96 MINT 9: 2 cards, w/Hoyt and Lucas; SGC 92 NM/MT+ 8.5: 5 cards, w/Combs, Jones, Judge, Ruffing and Sewell; SGC 88 NM/MT 8: 22 cards, w/ Berg, Blue, Carroll, Critz, Dykes, Ehmke, Fonseca, Grove, Hodapp, Hurst, Kamm, Kress, Manush, Pennock, Richbourgh, Ruel, Russell, Ruth, Sewell, Thomas, Waner and Zachary; SGC 86 NM+ 7.5: 6 cards, w/Alexander, Allen, Bottomley, Jamieson, Koenig, Miller; SGC 84 NM 7: 18 cards, w/Benton, Bishop, Bush, Cissell, English, Faber, Gehrig, Gehringer, Hendrick, High, Hudlin, Jones, Klein, McWeeney, Melillo, Regan, Rice and Whitehill; SGC 80 EX/NM 6: 26 cards, w/Bissonette, Carlson, Donohue, Dressen, Fitzsimmons, Frisch, Grantham, Grimes, Herman, Hogan, Johnson, Leach, Lindstrom, Liska, Malone, Maranville, Ott, Rommel, Root, Roush, Shires, Simmons, Stephenson, Traynor, Vance and Wilson; SGC 70 EX+ 5.5: 5 cards, w/Deberry, Douthit, Rice, Schulte and Thompson; SGC 60 EX 5: 10 cards, w/Ford, Foxx, Hafey, Hornsby, Maguire, O'Doul, Smith, Terry, Waner and Willoughby; SGC 50 VG/EX 4: 4 cards, w/Goslin, Hadley, Welsh and Whitney; SGC 40 VG 3: 1 card, Seibold; SGC 30 GD 2: 1 card, Todt; SGC 10 PR 1: 1 card, Haines.
