1928 Sociedade Industrail Babe Ruth & Ty Cobb #105 SGC 50 VG/EX 4 - The Only Graded Example. One was a gregarious, free-swinging slugger. Another was a seething vessel of slap-and-sprint determination of a fading era. Each rode a distinctly different path to the gates of Cooperstown and the upper echelon of the baseball pantheon. None was immune to scandal, with Cobb and Speaker nearly relegated to a shared room in baseball purgatory with Shoeless Joe by a 1926 gambling scandal, and Ruth missing most of the 1925 season for maladies alternately identified in low whispers as alcoholism and social indiscretion. Yet each is properly identified as a resident upon the short list of greatest ballplayers ever, a legacy ensured by the appearance of each on the dais as members of the Hall of Fame's inaugural class.

One will find no shortage of suitors for a singular card featuring a Home Run and Hits King unencumbered by an asterisk. Graded SGC 50 VG/EX 4, this is the only example on the SGC census. PSA has yet to grade their first. Also included is a previously bound copy of the April 13, 1927 New York Times with this image on page 29.

I thought that Peter Calderon was very pleasant and had a very professional attitude.
