1921 D350-3 Standard Biscuit Babe Ruth PSA Poor 1 - The Only PSA Graded Example! In a collecting hobby dominated by the traditions of tobacco and bubble gum, the humble "D-Card," nomenclature designating original distribution through the sale of baked goods, stands as a tiny but important footnote. One suspects that the perishable nature of baked goods was the reason that so few bakers threw their caps into the trading card ring--once the bread went stale, the loaf or biscuits were simply discarded (no pun intended), wasting their cardboard commemoratives. Each surviving today in the thinnest of populations.

Appropriating the visuals of the American Caramel Series of 80 (E121) set of the same year, the Standard Biscuit is beyond rarer without question. Naturally, the Babe is far and away the key card in the set. Interestingly, while the caption reads "Babe Ruth, R.F. - New York Americans," the photographic image is of the Babe pitching in a Red Sox uniform, an image that would be worth a mint in any vintage format. The entire series is represented by just twenty-six submissions. Presented is one of the most significant survivors bearing the D-card DNA, as this is currently the one and only Type 3 Standard Biscuit Babe Ruth card residing within a PSA slab.

Graded PSA Poor 1. The condition of the card falls in line with typical scattered creasing and multiple small areas of obverse surface loss and one physical "dimple" just inside the inner right key line leaving visual appeal intact. None of this is problematic when considered in the context of the card's elite rarity and significance. Take a good look--you may never see one of these again - ever or at least for a very long time.
