    Description

1917 E135 Collins-McCarthy Ty Cobb #30 SGC Good 2. From the Cleary Collection. The mid-1910's era saw a limited number of comprehensive baseball card promotions. The sets that were produced now serve as the cornerstone to many vintage collections. There are the Coupon, Cracker Jack and M101-4/M101-5 editions, but the rarest set is the E135 Collins McCarthy series from 1917 that saw only West Coast distribution. The clean and simple design seemed to have served as inspiration for future caramel sets that would not circulate for another four years. The E135 series is distinctive for its early use of the term "Baseball's Hall of Fame." Offered is baseball legend Ty Cobb. A solid, clean card with no major faults. Graded SGC Good 2. One of only fourteen graded by SGC.
