    Description

1916 M101-5 Blank Back (Sporting News) Joe Jackson #86 PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop Two, None Higher. Despite playing for 13 years prior to his banishment, Joe Jackson is featured in a limited number of card sets. He was not yet a regular player in 1910 and was, therefore, not included in the tobacco issues of that time. Jackson was banned from baseball following the 1920 season and did not make it into the popular American Caramel and related issues of the 1920's. Besides a few strip card issues, there are just not many cards available that feature Jackson with his infamous team, the Black Sox. Thankfully the Sporting News and associated M101-4 and M101-5 sets are a great source for Jackson fans and they are among the most popular of all his White Sox cards as they picture the star.

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. This is one of only two cards graded NM-MT by PSA, there are none rated higher! The portrait is a classic Charles Conlon batting shot, a real-world version of the same picture that was used for his Cracker Jack card. The offered M101-5 blank-back card exhibits a sharp portrait that is centered a thin sliver away from perfection. All four corners come to distinct 90-degree angles. Even with a mythical type following PSA has received only ten submissions. That is extremely low for a card hobbyists will submit regardless of the condition.
