1914 D303 Gen. Baking Ty Cobb, Side View SGC 20 Fair 1.5. Graded 20 FR 1.5 by SGC, the middle example of only three total graded to date. What IS it about these southern releases that excite vintage hobbyists so much? Oh, yes, they are rare as H-E-double L, that's why. Never truly "common" due to the limited geographical area with which they were distributed, a sigh of relief is made upon seeing this rare D303 General Baking card of baseball legend Ty Cobb. This side view variation is one of the iconic images card fans know of the "Georgia Peach" as he is about to smash out one of his over 4,100 career hits. A tough rarity not to be passed over lightly, especially due to what most may consider a harsh technical assessment.
