1914 Cracker Jack Eddie Cicotte #94 PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop One, None Higher! Baseball historians have argued for years whether Ed Cicotte was most to blame for the greatest scandal in baseball history. The fact is he did bean the first Cincinnati Reds batter he faced in Game One to signal the fix was on. The smile and casual demeanor contradict the harsh and foreboding end to his promising career. He is a household name to baseball fans, but what is known collectors is that Cicotte is a scarce Cracker Jack. This card is graded PSA NM-MT 8 and is currently the one and only card to earn the NM-MT grade from PSA with none others grading higher! The corners show minute traces of wear at the outer tips. Surfaces are clean and the smiling portrait is sharp, precisely registered and very nicely centered. With only fourteen submissions, we can safely call Cicotte a scarce 1914 Cracker Jack subject, an infamous name from baseball history represented here in the finest copy on record with PSA. This is only the second example Heritage has had the chance to present to our bidders.
