    Description

1914 Cracker Jack Christy Mathewson #88 PSA Good+ 2.5. Approximately three times as rare as its older sibling, the 1914 Cracker Jack issue, that large disparity generally attributed to the fact that the 1915 set could be acquired in full through a distributor redemption plan as well as a significant "find" several years ago. The 1914 model was also printed on a much lighter card stock than the 1915, further complicating the odds of survival.

Here we find one of the most desirable entries in the set, issued during the last of a twelve-year streak of twenty-plus victory seasons. It's an intriguing action shot, set against the blood-red background that is the Cracker Jack issue's most recognizable feature. Corners are rounded by the passage of a century and change, but otherwise this is a rather clean and impressive showpiece, lacking creasing or staining common to this issue. Even at a PSA Good+ 2.5 rating, this specimen finds itself firmly implanted in the upper half of the full PSA population of thirty as this text is written.
